We spent yesterday most of the day exploring Salisbury N.C. This is a very interesting town with a lot of historical sites and buildings dating from the early 1800's.  They have some beautiful Churches and main street is lined with very interesting buildings and businesses.
Beautiful Building.   Notice on top it says
In God  Salisbury Administration Center  We Trust
Not too many buildings say that anymore.

Lutheran Church

Statue right behind the traffic light.
 First Presbyterian Church
Built 1826      Rebuilt 1891
Gazebo behind old church in Serenity Garden
Fountain behind new Presbyterian Church

Beautiful Muriel depicting the town as it was during early 1800.

Nice Clock on street corner.
After a beautiful afternoon we went to the mall and did some shopping.  Today
it's cold outside so we are staying in getting caught up on the computer
and doing the laundry.  Tomorrow we go to a new location, so no more Internet for
awhile.  Hope all is well with all of you.    Thanks so much for your posts concerning
the blog and just saying Hi.  We appreciate it.

Sun April 22, 2012

We are now at another Army Corp of Engineers Park in Thomson, GA.  We have a beautiful site with a drive thru and a panoramic view of the lake.  Large site and very comfortable.  We are headed to town to do some laundry and go to Wal-Mart to get some supplies.  Feels like a good place to stay so for now we booked 3 nights.  We will explore on our bikes and Kayak tomorrow.  Traveling together and exploring new horizons just feels good.

Henderson Beach & National Navy Aviation Museum

Wednesday  April 19, 2012

We got very comfortable in our large site, had some lunch and headed to the beach once again.  It was a beautiful walk about ¼ mile and all paved or part of the boardwalk.  This park has it all, nice bathhouses, bike and walking paths, beach pavilions for a picnic, nice laundry facilities and close to everything in town.  Would stay here at Henderson State Park again. After supper Ton took some sunset pictures from the boardwalk.

This morning we headed for Pensacola to the National Aviation Museum.  It was awesome and the Naval Training facility and the history of the planes was a site to see and learn about.  We enjoyed the Museum and went to the IMAX Theater to see the wonders of Flight.  After that we took the trolley ride out to the flight line and saw every kind of old war planes and some in the process of being restored.  We enjoyed the entire day there and headed home.

When we reached Destin we stopped at Dewey Destin’s Dockside Seafood restaurant.  We were referred there by a ranger at our campground as they catch their own fish. We had Grouper..  The view was pretty and they had a nice garden area so all was good.

We’re just arrived at Bluff Creek Army Corp Park in Alabama.  It’s a nice park, but unfortunately we do not have internet or cell phone service here.  We are 20 miles from Columbus, GA and will go into Columbus tonight so we can post this blog so you will know what’s going on if you decide to call.

We send you our love and hope all is well.

Henderson Beach Destin Fl.

Yesterday we arrived at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, FL.  This is a beautiful park.  We spent the afternoon on the beach and just exploring.
After a super friendly squirel ate his supper, he stopped for a drink and then washed his hands.
During the night it poured down rain and continued thru this morning.  It's now 1 p.m. and beautiful once again.
Time to change sites and we love this one
Our campsite today is beautiful and very private.  It's a long curved drive thru site and a beautiful Magnolia Tree just outside our door.  .We are in town doing some errands and stopped at Mickey D's in order to post. Soon we will go back to the beach. We won't see the blue angels this trip as the performance was cancelled due to all the rain.  We expected that to happen so didn't even try and will go visit the Naval Avaiation Museum tomorrow.
Hope you are all well and we send our love

O'Leno State Park

We are a whopping two hours from home in a beautiful quiet drive through site. We use this strictly as a stopover so we will not have a long drive tomorrow but it's a nice park.has been quite interesting. We rode our bikes to a swinging Bridge and took a hike in the woods and now are just relaxing for the evening.
