Henderson Beach & National Navy Aviation Museum

Wednesday  April 19, 2012

We got very comfortable in our large site, had some lunch and headed to the beach once again.  It was a beautiful walk about ¼ mile and all paved or part of the boardwalk.  This park has it all, nice bathhouses, bike and walking paths, beach pavilions for a picnic, nice laundry facilities and close to everything in town.  Would stay here at Henderson State Park again. After supper Ton took some sunset pictures from the boardwalk.

This morning we headed for Pensacola to the National Aviation Museum.  It was awesome and the Naval Training facility and the history of the planes was a site to see and learn about.  We enjoyed the Museum and went to the IMAX Theater to see the wonders of Flight.  After that we took the trolley ride out to the flight line and saw every kind of old war planes and some in the process of being restored.  We enjoyed the entire day there and headed home.

When we reached Destin we stopped at Dewey Destin’s Dockside Seafood restaurant.  We were referred there by a ranger at our campground as they catch their own fish. We had Grouper..  The view was pretty and they had a nice garden area so all was good.

We’re just arrived at Bluff Creek Army Corp Park in Alabama.  It’s a nice park, but unfortunately we do not have internet or cell phone service here.  We are 20 miles from Columbus, GA and will go into Columbus tonight so we can post this blog so you will know what’s going on if you decide to call.

We send you our love and hope all is well.

I had an issue getting into the site yesterday - but no problems today. LOVE "our" trip so far. It just makes me feel peaceful to see all the beautiful sights. Had 1 1/2 in of much needed rain this afternoon. Be safe, continue to show beautiful pictures. Love you guys.
