Colonial Williamsburg Area May 5 - 8

Saturday, May 5 we arrived in Newport News City Park near Colonial Williamsburg.  It’s a really nice park and close to everything.  After getting set up we went to the visitors’ bureau in the park and then headed for Yorktown, where the battle with the English was held.  It was a very old picturesque town along the water front where the English came in.  We had a delicious Crab Cake sandwich in the Pub and then walked past some old homes and saw Cannonballs still lodged in the back of some of them.

Today we went to the condo where our neighbors Barbara & Richard from Royal Harbor are spending a week getaway vacation in Williamsburg.  We all went to Jamestown and then had lunch at the New York Deli and Pizza in Williamsburg and a shopping center they suggested.   It was so nice sharing the day with them.

Having fun in front of Jamestown entrance

The food was wonderful and Jamestown very interesting.  It’s where we got our freedom and where John Smith met and married Pocahontas.

Hi Ton & Jerri...sorry I haven't commented but absolutely love this trip "we" are on. Been busy with doctor apts - nothing urgent except Carl has a hernia - not sure where this is leading us but we'll take one step at a time as we always do. DO NOT WORRY, everything is under God's control as always. How neat to meet up with neighbors - always fun. We had a good rain on Monday. Hugs...Betty
