MARIPOSA SEQUOIA GROVE AT YOSEMITE

2 Days ago we visited the mariposa grove at Yosemite. We left at about 9am and were at the south entrance  at about 9:45 as it is only 26 miles from our campsite. From there to the grove is only another 6 miles.  The weather again was glorious,  temps in the valley where around 90 that day however at 5500 ft with snow still all around us it was a pleasant 60.  After having some fun in the snow we admired the giant trees starting already at the parking lot but the lower grove with the largest tree the grizzly giant is about a mile from the parking lot on a easy to follow trail.
The whole area is a spectacular miracle from nature or better yet illustrates the power of Gods creation.  We thoroughly enjoyed our morning in the park and feel very blessed to personally see those gentle giant wonders created by Him. Some of those trees are almost old enough to have been around  in the days of our Lord.
In the afternoon we did some grocery shopping and took it easy. Here are some picks to try to give an idea of those giant redwoods.

Ton inside the Tunnel Tree - You  can walk through this one

Right in front of our parking space

The roots of a fallen Giant

That's tall!!

Now for some fun in the snow!

Oh my special friend, THIS is exactly what I needed today - to hear you laugh! I saw these trees when I was about 6 years old and they will never leave my mind. You can't see the country you are seeing and not KNOW and FEEL the beauty the Lord has created. I just loved loved LOVED the video, you laughing and Ton saying "don't you dare" - I knew you would, we never let a dare go, do we, Sis? Have a wonderful Mother's Day in your special corner of the world with your husband who adores you! Miss you - Love & hugs, Betty

How beautiful are those trees. I really want to get out there with the kids sometime.
