Mount Rushmore and Black Hills area

Mount Rushmore – Black Hills area
Thursday, May 16, 2013

It rained last night and storms were expected this afternoon.  We decided to get out this morning and go to Mount Rushmore and judge the rest of the day by the weather.  It only got prettier, so we went into Custer State Park today to check things out for tomorrow.  We had to buy a park pass because we are camping there for the next 5 days and it is good for 7 days.  Tomorrow starts a 3 day weekend of Free Entry into all of So. Dakota State parks and fishing, so we got a jump on touring the wildlife trails in the park before it got busy.  We checked our campsite out too.  The rain started on our way home and continued all evening.

A beautiful rainbow came over our campground which was the perfect ending to our day.

We have been blessed with our weather and being able to see so much.  Thanks to those who are traveling with us through our blog.

This brings back so many memories and I simply love "being" here with you two. I need to dig out some old pictures of me when I did this trip some 60 years ago. The rainbow is just God's awesome promise He is there with you. You are doing such a great job of sharing the trip - thank you! Love & hugs, Betty
