We left at 8:00 this morning to head for the Black Hills area. Little did we know that one hour away we entered Mountain Time so it was only 7:00 a.m. We left early because it was a long ride and we wanted to go through the Badlands to get here.  They call it the “Land of Rock and Sky”.  It was so much more than I expected.  The formations of the rock from the strong winds and hard winters were absolutely beautiful.  We saw Long Horned Sheep and lots of little Prairie Dogs.  The Prairie dogs ran onto the road so we always had to watch out for them.   I had a difficult time deciding what pictures to post.

Morning at the Badlands Nat'l Park

Now you see who's really in charge!  :)

 What a view

Ton was so lucky to be able to photograph these longhorn sheep
because it's rare to see them.

As we exited the park we came into the town of Wall, S.D.  This was our next planned stop.  Wall Drug is probably the most famous tourist trap in the U.S.  It takes up almost the whole city block with more gift shops than anyone could imagine.  Then in the backyard were the Photo Op’s.  Someone always has to sit on the Jackalope, so of course I made sure it was Ton.  I took the easier ride in the covered wagon.  We ate lunch there with their 5-cent coffee and had a great roast beef sandwich.

The famous Wal Drug

He rode it for me --- What a sport!

We arrived at our campsite in late afternoon, hooked up and went looking for a car wash.  Our little car was filthy from rainy nights and dusty roads.

It was another perfect day.
