Provo, Utah
We are spending 3 days here since we drove over 300 miles
yesterday to get here and didn't arrive until 4:00 since there was another time
change. The speed limit most of the way was 80 to 85 mph, but in the
motor home we drive between 65 & 70. Utah's speed limit seems a
little to high for me anyway, especially since they all have no patience
and little courtesy on the road.
We are staying at Lake Provo State Park. It's convenient to everything, in town and you are surrounded by the beautiful Utah Lake and the mountains. We have a lovely campsite.

We picked this as our campsite
Beautiful views on our left
and another one on our right
This was taken out our window so that
is why it's hazy
Today we took a beautiful scenic drive up the Timpooneke Mountain. The highest point of the mountain is 11,000 feet but the highest you can drive is 8,800 feet. This had a lot more twist and turns than most mountains we've driven on, and we loved every minute.
The first stop was Bridal Falls
The stream at the bottom....
was full of trout
The next stop was Sundance Ski Resort
and it is owned by Actor, Robert Redford
Robert Redford bought this is 1956
It is the smallest ski resort in the area, but they say...
...Robert Redford likes keeping it intimate.
We are now leaving Sundance and heading to the top of the mountain
and just enjoy the scene
Gorgeous pull off area
This would be our last stop before heading down the mountain...
...which make it a great stop for a picnic
As we head down the mountain,
the serenity of this place
will always be in our memories
Today we planned on Ton doing some kayaking, but a cold front came through last night.. It feels like a February day in Florida
- Windy, white caps on the lake and cold by our standards. (in the 60's) There are other things to do though, so it
will still be good.
When we leave in the morning it will be a long trip just for a 1 night quick stay and then another 300 + miles the day after that. We probably will not post for the next 5 days because of staying in some wilderness areas.

"We" certainly have beautiful campsites. It always looks like it's very uncrowded - is it? Can't wait to see Jeri's book she makes of this trip - how will you choose the best pictures or will it simply be HUGE? LOL.
Love & hugs, Betty
