Townsend, MT

Townsend, MT
June 17
We had rain most of the morning drive, but when the sky cleared we had beautiful
scenery in the plains below the road

This was just a quick inexpensive overnight stop to break our drive to Yellowstone.  We have already been on the road on a rainy day for almost 5 hours and that’s more than we like to drive.
The field across from our site
Pretty Cactus behind our site

This is in the middle of nowhere but they had a KOA for $48 a night and this one ½ mile down the dirt road right on the lake.  It is a National Forest campground for only $5.00.
It is definitely Boon-docking

The pronghorn’s in the field by us
There's no question Who's the Boss

They were all ages......
.....and when the boss made a noise for warning of
someone near, they all took heed and then ran.

We were camped right on the water and the fish were large
and jumping out of the water

I’m getting to like these campgrounds in nature and not busy,
and it’s light here until 9:30 p.m.
