Riley Creek - Corp. of Engineers park

June 14 & 15, 2014           Riley Creek - Corp. of Engineers park

This was a nice stop between Mt. Rainier and Glacier Nat’l. Parks.  It was a good place to chill and get some rest for a couple of days while we picked out our next few stops.  It’s not close to anything, but we have electric, water, good Internet and cell connections.  It gave me some time to catch up on the blogs too.
Our very spacious campsite

Sunday morning Ton was pleased to hear from all three boys.  Ton received a nice Fathers Day wish from my friend, Betty too.  Thanks everyone for your thoughtfulness.

We went to the quaint old town of Sandpoint, Idaho for Fathers Day.
We walked into a few shops downtown....
A tall cute birdhouse that I liked in one of the shops....
but not for the $75 they wanted.

...and then ate at The Station BBQ.  It was a small little restaurant similar to Jacks BBQ in Groveland, but served huge delicious sandwiches with homemade potato chips.
The Station Street Bridge shops
and half way down we found
the BBQ people in the area raved about
We both enjoyed it
When we got back home, Ton took a walk to get some pictures of  the Riley Creek campground area
No matter where we go...
He seems to find a Blue Heron
The boat ramps
Riley Lake

The swimming beach
50 degrees outside for a high....I don't think so  :)
Beautiful wildflowers
and the daisies remind me of a
big Happy Face

In the morning we head to Glacier National Park.

What a huge campsite! I like the daisies much better than the snow. Thanks for the "heads up" - made me less nervous about you two. We are still getting lots of rain but the heat of the day dries it out very quickly. I like the birdhouse too but....lets say I'm glad you got the picture but didn't buy it LOL

Love & hugs,
Betty
