Arches, Canyonlands & La Sal Mountain

June 22 – 24     Arches Nat’l Park & Canyonlands

We arrived at the Spanish Trails RV Park in Moab, Utah about 1:00 in the afternoon.  We got the RV hooked up and were excited to see Arches Nat’l Park.  We had heard from so many people how pretty it is, so didn’t want to wait another day.  It’s good to go in the afternoon, as it is usually less busy.  We couldn’t stop taking pictures and didn’t get back to our campsite until 8:00 p.m.

You can see by the people under it how enormeously big it is

Sunday, Day 2
Today we visited Canyonlands National Park.  There is only a 25 mile distance between Arches and Canyonlands, but they look very different.   It was another nice day – we haven’t had rain since we left home, so we are very thankful for our great weather and the beauty we are seeing.
My honey, back on the trails

A maze of the Green river, carving pieces of the valley.
It looks like a giant puzzle!
Time for a picnic

Coming back to our campsite we turned off the main road to a windy road that runs along the Colorado river. We saw Indian writings on the canyon walls, and several people were hiking up the steep walls of this very high canyon. We met a family of 4 from North Carolina and their seven-year-old son was getting ready to climb, so we asked if we could take some pictures of him. It was awesome. The whole family did it but each went separately for safety. Ironically, the boys name was Dylan.

Don't get any ideas, Dylan!

Back home for the night
Monday, Day 3

We took a drive up the La Sal Mountain Loop Road.  It was long, windy and beautiful.  In some areas it was barely wide enough for one car as they were repairing the road.  An interesting drive

Just Breathtaking as you drive over the mountain

We see the U.S.A. the Honda way

Back down the mountain and then home again.
It's been a great 3 days once again.
