May 26, 2013    Yellowstone Hot Springs & Norris Geyser Basin
Hi everyone, We're back for a day so I'll try to catch up since we now have 4G for a little while so Ton's cellphone gives us a hot spot.    I'm basically just sharing pictures, as we only have tonight to get a lot caught up, like planning where our next stop will be.

Still in Yellowstone - Here are a few pictures of Mammoth Hot Springs
This is hot mineral water coming down from the mountains
and they form thes terraces over the years.

Small geysers boil over all over the area.
You can drive down the road and see them as well
as in this special section of the park.
On the way back to our campsite, we got in the back
of this huge traffic jam.  Rangers were  trying to
get the traffic moving, but to no avail....

....and all because of this one black bear.

We enjoyed watching this female moose (called a "cow"
that walked across the road in front of us and then
walked right by our car, when no other
traffic was around.

The West Thumb Geyser Basin is a very interesting area
that we passed on the way back to our campsite.
Very hot and the sulpher smell was strong,
but so unique and beautiful.
This AMAZED us
This is a geyser coming out of the lake.
Looking out over the enourmous Yellowstone,
you can see what lies below.

Surveys show
hot springs in the bottom of the deep lake.

At the end of this beautiful day, we saw what
we had been looking for.  The rangers said we probably wouldn't see
the male as they went high up the mountain away from the females
and their young in the spring and sumer.

He was grazing with head down and I said'
Okay, I've been wanting this picture so Look Up"
Ton laughed, because he did.
What a day!

I'll let these pictures speak for themselves

We've had a busy 4 days in Yellowstone and tomorrow,
we will go back and visit some of our favorite places.

So finished with Yellowstone pics and our next place is
the Grand Tetons National Park.
