Lake Taho, California area and Red Rock Canyon National Conservatory in Nevada

June 11 Near Lake Tahoe
Today we arrived at a Corp of Engineers out in the woods near Lake Tahoe.  No hook ups and so peaceful and serene.  Flashlights for light and that was it.  We didn’t run the generator as nobody else was so we didn’t want to break the silence.
We had a nice site between the trees

In the early afternoon, we went to McDonalds to post yesterday’s blog and then drove 6 miles to Lake Tahoe to look at the town and the beauty of the lake.
 Relaxing beside the lake

Large waves & snow on the mountain

Ready to Paddle in a city park
View as driving up the mountain
Ski Lifts at the Ritz Carlton resort
One view of the enormous Ritz Carlton Resort Hotel
The ski slopes look bare in the summer

After stopping for some ice cream, we went back to our campsite
and this little critter was waiting for us:)
We then watched the sunset
and called it a night - after a pleasant restful day.

June  12-13 Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
We left Tahoe in 54-degree temperatures going east.  Driving across the desert was amazing, hot and a long drive, yet beautiful.  Good roads and no traffic.

Taken out my car window as we drove through the desert.
Even with the heat the snow was still in the mountains.

We arrived at Pair-a-dice Escapee Park in Pahrump, Nevada with a temperature of 104.  Nice facilities and we decided to stay 3 nights.

After a good night sleep we did the laundry, some computer work and just relaxed awhile.  This afternoon we decided to make the 50-mile drive to Red Rock Canyon in the Mojave Desert.  An awesome sight with the mountains in so many colors.  We hope you enjoy your journey through this part of the desert.

Ton took one of the many trails through the canyon

 The colors are amazing
He wanted to explore this hole in the rock, but it
wasn't deep enough to go into.
 A happy couple

Ton climbed to the top of this stone, but
I didn't get the picture

 Flowers along the road

Another great day.  We relax here tomorrow and then we
will see what's next.

So, when you stopped a few days ago to pay the bills, did you forget to buy some razors? I guess we know who's playing Santa Claus this year! Looks Good! Oh, and the mountains and hills with all those colors are very nice too. We Love You!!
