June 15 & 16, 2013
We stayed at Duck Creek RV in Henderson, Nevada only 6 miles from the Las Vegas strip. We arrived in dry hot Las Vegas to 122 degrees outside of our motorhome and 95 inside.    This was after lunch and we had to get out.  We left the air on high and drove to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam 20 miles away.    It was nice not sitting inside with our bodies cooking while our home cooled off.

It was on the news daily about companies that are digging tunnels at the bottom of Lake Mead to send high quality water to California, Arizona and Nevada.  They aren’t sure what that is going to do to the lake, but the lake is already low.  California gets almost all of its water from this lake.

From there to Hoover Dam.  We visited Hoover Dam about 20 years ago and it has changed a lot.  They built a brand new bridge in memory of Pat Tillman.  We viewed everything and then headed home.

Stairs to the visitor center, but I took the escalator

A nice afternoon and after we arrived home our home was comfortable

On day two, we stayed around our home going to Costco and other places for supplies until late afternoon.  We fixed supper early and headed for the Strip at 5:00.
 Arriving at the strip

We only had two places we wanted to visit and they were the Bellagio and Caesars Palace. We parked in their parking garage, then entered the casino to view the Conservatory with the gorgeous flowers. They change them with the seasons and the area smells and looks wonderful.

 Bellagio gardens

From there, we walked across a bridge that goes over the street to Caesars.
On one side of the bridge is a lake.

After visiting Caesars Palace, we walked back to the Bellagio and
watched two water shows on the way

The Bellagio has beautiful fountain shows on the water every half hour.

After 8:00 p.m. they were going every 15 minutes and it takes
at least a half hour to get over the bridge so it worked out perfectly.  So pretty.

We had to take two more night pictures before we left.  A fun night.

BEAUTIFUL flowers everywhere! In 1952 I rode through LV but my sister and I were told to keep our eyes closed as it was Sin City LOL. I kept them open and took everything in with the two of you! We are getting hard rains every afternoon. Love & miss you.

Definitely a different world. Its funny, in all the movies and pictures you see of Vegas through the years, you rarely see it during daylight. :)

Very cool!
