May 7 & 8 – Fairview-Riverside State Park – Madisonville, LA.

We arrived here for two days of relaxation and Ton getting to do some Kayaking on the beautiful Tchefuncte River across Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.  It’s a quiet, peaceful State Park and 45 minutes from New Orleans French Quarter.

We arrived at our campsite and soon after Ton went kayaking.
I chose to stay back and enjoy the campground.

He got back in time to fix us a delicious Rib-eye for supper.
It was so good
The campsite was large and very peaceful
After dinner we rode our bikes down to the river for a walk
Ton set his camera on his bike seat and took this cool picture.

His better half.
My better half

Walking the Boardwalk
On our second day here, Ton went kayaking in the morning
past some large private yachts
and some beautiful mansions.

Ton said he would buy this for me if he won the lottery,
but then, he doesn't play it so that won't happen. :)

These statues are around the pool and water falls over
the steps.
The beautiful mansion above is not for sale.  We were told that
it is owned by probably John Goodman or Shania Twain as
they both have homes on the river by the State Park.
We visited the Otis house in the afternoon

The tour started on this old front porch
Ton took a hike and saw this lizard hiding in the tree
and snacked on a few raspberries along the way.
Time to pack up for tomorrow.

This was a nice place to stay for awhile.  Tomorrow we go to Beaumont, Texas.
